I created this recipe after many search results ended in sugar being added to all the recipes I found. Hidden sugars are found everywhere, but I didn’t want them in my savory green beans!

Ingredients: Always use organic when possible for best results.
- 8 cups fresh or frozen green beans
- 2 cups chicken bone broth
- 4 slices of bacon diced
- 1 yellow onion diced
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 – 1 tsp pepper (depending on your taste)
Optional recipe variations:
- Add all ingredients to a slow cooker on high for 4-6 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
- Leave out the bacon and use vegetable broth for a vegan option.
- Add some cloves of garlic for a kick of flavor.
- This recipe is easily doubled (or larger) for larger crowd.
How to make the Best Green Beans and Bacon (no sugar)
Step One
Gather your ingredients. Measure and dice what you will need. Pour all prepared ingredients together into your stock pot. Turn stock pot to high and let come to a boil.
Step two
Turn the heat to medium low, give a good stir, and top with a lid. Let simmer for one hour or more.
Step three
Remove from heat and keep covered until ready to eat. Serve alongside your favorite meal. Enjoy!
