My name is Sara!
It is a pleasure to meet you!
I am a work from home wife and mom of two kids, with one still being homeschooled. My passions include a low-tox living lifestyle, education, cooking from scratch, farm life, and faith.
I enjoy helping the busy woman put the “steady” into homesteading by exploring sensible ways to live a clean and farm inspired life with a side of faith.
I live on a homestead in rural Missouri with my hard working husband, our two teenage children, chickens, turkeys, cats, dogs, goats, pigs, and cows. You will have a chance to meet them all along the way, I am sure!
While growing up on a farm until my high school years, we moved to a larger city when I was in 8th grade so I could attend a private school for a better education.
Once getting married, we knew our lives belonged in the country. We slowly inched our way out to the middle of no where, although just a mile from my grandparents. We moved three times as a family through different subdivision lots that we filled to the edge with gardens before making our fourth move to our current, and final, homestead which currently consists of 40 acres.
I love the conscious living lifestyle which consists of researching everything that goes into and onto our bodies, as well as all of our animals! When other people were curious about the foods we eat and the products we use, The Sensible Life with Sara was born!
I am so excited for you to get a glimpse into our lives from our farm house pantry to our personal care products.
A FEW FUN FACTS ABOUT ME:
I called our chickens “dogs” when we lived in a subdivision and weren’t supposed to have them.
When I was young, I competed in a sport called sports acro. My trio won first place at the national competition.
I had two natural childbirths in the hospital, and I had hospital administrators outside my door wanting to watch because they had never seen that done. (BTW, I declined their request!)
I was cast as Head Mother in the Nutcracker and performed with Gateway Ballet of St. Louis when I was in high school.
I couldn’t wait to get out of school so I could just get married and live life…we got married at age 20, and are happy we did!
Why am I here?
It can be so easy to become overwhelmed with options! We have the power to bring the “steady” into a homesteading lifestyle by exploring sensible ways to live a clean and farm inspired life with a side of faith together.
From mindset, to products, to homesteading projects, we will discuss them all. Take it one step at a time.
First pick what is necessary to you. Next, do what is possible in your life. Lastly, I want to celebrate you doing what you thought was impossible!
It is my mission to work together to help you create the life you want so you can start doing what you thought was an “impossible” part of living The Sensible Life!
“Start by doing what is necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
-Francis of Assisi
